Our Consignment Process

Step by step

Working with you all the way through.

[1] Acceptable Merchandise

For household items:

   They must be in home-ready condition with no damage and no repairs.

For antique and vintage pieces:

   They DO NOT need to be in perfect condition.  The amount of wear and tear should be age-appropriate.  Repairs, especially if professionally done, may be acceptable depending on desirability and rarity factors.

For furniture:

   It should be of high quality and in home-ready condition.  Some wear and tear and some repairs may be acceptable for antique furniture.

For designer handbags:

   We only carry authentic, high-end designer bags in excellent or mint condition.  We welcome Hermes, Goyard, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vuitton and similar brands.

For estate jewellery: 

   It must be in perfect condition.  An accompanying appraisal is appreciated, but not necessary.

For international and ethnic items and fine arts:

   As long as they are in good condition, anything goes.


Please note that final decisions for item acceptance are made on-site during the intake appointments.

[2] Appointment Booking

For smaller items intake appointments are booked on a first-come basis by calling the store during regular hours at:

Tuesday to Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

(Intake appointments are NOT provided through our website or by e-mail.)


For furniture and larger items send photos and relevant information (provenance, dimensions, condition, age, etc.) to:

   Appropriateness of the items will be evaluated prior to acceptance.  Final approvals are dependent on condition upon arrival at the store.  Items mat be declined if there is unacceptable discrepancy between the photos and description, and the actual condition.

   *Special considerations are given for entire estate or large volume of items.  We recommend you call us directly at the number above and send photos to our email as we may be able to further assist in packing and delivery.

[3] Furniture Delivery

If you require furniture delivered to or from our store, we can provide you with delivery services by an independent third-party moving company.  The cost will be negotiated between you and the moving company.

If you can deliver items to Consignment World yourself, please ensure you bring sufficient help to unload the items into the store.

[4] Terms and Policies

   The pricing of all of our items are determined by Consignment World based on, but not limited to, condition, desirability and local market value, and only during the intake appointment after an in-person inspection.

   Duration of the contract is for 2 months.  At the conclusion of the contract, payment will be issued.  You will receive 40% of the total selling price. 

   It is your full responsibility to contact us to close your contract.  Unsold items will be returned to you at that time.
